Taking “Me Time”
I want to talk to you about two very important things today: How to Have a Life and Teaching Your Vision. The first is covered in my book, Profitable Pilates, the second, via one of my online courses. Let’s first tackle why it’s important for you to have a life—one that best meets your needs so that you can best serve your clients and meet their needs.
As you’re starting up your Pilates teaching practice, chances are that you don’t say, “No” very often. I’m betting that you agree to teach any time of the day or night when clients are available or request your time. (Raise your hand if this describes you to a T!) Some of you who are reading this are well-established in your Pilates business, and I’m also willing to bet that there are those of you who still don’t say, “No.”
Newbies and veterans alike: I’m here to advocate for the importance of you taking “me time” so that you stay inspired and fresh for your clients.
Your time is just as valuable as your clients’ time!
But where do you start in setting up a schedule, a weekly and ongoing calendar that meets your needs while serving those of your clients?
In the book, I provide several tried-and-true tips (Translation: I learned the hard way so that you don’t have to!).
As in any profession, you’ll never please 100 percent of your customer base 100 percent of the time. I understand that it can be scary to say “No” or to set strict parameters around your availability. This is not to say that you cannot be flexible, but you also have to believe enough in your own high value, and stick to strict scheduling boundaries so that you can Have a Life!
So many Pilates instructors neglect the important business aspects of their Pilates business. That’s why I wrote this book. I want you to love what you do and do what you love. So help yourself and download a copy or order one today.

Teach Your Vision
Maybe reading isn’t how you learn best—or maybe you want to supplement the lessons learned in my book with some online training? If so, that’s why I also created a series of online courses that you can access in your own space on your own schedule.
One of my favorite courses is called Teaching Your Vision. I based it on individual coaching sessions that I conducted with studio owners and instructors.
I learned that many of you get so excited about your love of Pilates and teaching that you sometimes get exhausted and forget to work toward the goals you set out to accomplish when you decided to become an instructor.
I want to give you permission to do what you’ve always wanted to do, and do it in the way you want to do it.
In this online course, I help guide you through strategies and exercises that help you discover your vision. We explore what you can do with that vision, how to create action plans, and we’ll discuss what to do if your vision changes. (Over the last 10 years, my personal vision and goals have changed immensely. I didn’t even know the things I can do today even existed a decade ago!)
After completing this course, I’d really love to hear what your vision becomes and how it goes for you. So please connect with me via email or social media.
Big changes may be on the horizon for you, and that’s really exciting. Let me help you own your dreams and desires.
