Advice from Fernando Sadir

Beyond honored am I to introduce you to this week’s guest blogger Fernando Sadir. A brilliant Pilates Instructor and mover who wants to share his advice “Look for someone to inspire you to reinvent yourself constantly within the method” with each of you! Walk Your Talk

I’ve been working as a Pilates instructor for the past 12 years and 10 years as a Studio owner. I’m graduated and certified by Romana Kryzanowska and Inelia Garcia at The Pilates Studio Brazil (2005) I continued all these years with Continuing Educations and workshops at Authentic Pilates, and in 2016 I enrolled and graduated from the Master Program “The Work” directed by Jay Grimes and Sandy Shimoda at Vintage Pilates, Los Angeles, California with the intention of keep learning and improving in the Method., CA (2016).

Since 2007 when the Studio Cidade Jardim was open in São Paulo – Brazil, I’ve been working there with about 13 teachers, as a teacher and director. It has become one of the biggest and a well-known studio in Brazil and also recognized as one of the most important studios in the franchise “The Pilates Studio Brasil – Authentic Pilates.”

As you know, successfully running a studio with engaged teachers and satisfied clients is a huge challenge.

Throughout these years working as a director, I’ve been able to identify one of the keys to the success we have achieved so far: internal and external clients’ satisfaction and motivation.

Considering that the practice of Pilates involves not only the improvement of your posture but also corporal and mind conditioning, teachers should be aware that practice makes perfect. To get better results and better performance from your clients, you should put yourself in their shoes and experience the method yourself not only during the certification program, but it should also be a constant journey. This way, it is possible to achieve higher results in your clients’ satisfaction and also the improvement of their health and well-being.

Besides external client satisfaction, we should identify how to inspire our internal clients. I’ve experienced that myself, always practicing and feeling my clients’ difficulties with the aim of helping them better.
At some point in my career, I felt the need of learning more to achieve my goals and also the clients’ goals, so I enrolled in another course. This is what, in my view, pushes a professional to excellence: being passionate about the method by learning about it constantly and deeply and by setting goals and challenges for yourself. When you see you can perform well, you feel the passion for learning and doing even better the next time as a practitioner and a teacher.

Despite all the difficulties we’ve had through this journey, such as political and economic crisis, teacher turnover, clients that are resistant to feel the method, among other factors, we’ve been able to succeed because of our discipline and passion. Be a role model, practice consistently and look for the best you can be, experience and feel the method, be passionate about it. A true leader can help a team find their fire within and inspire others by being an example and walk their talk.

Practica Lo Que Enseñas!

Trabajo como instructor de Pilates desde hace 12 años y hace 10 años como dueño de estudio.

Mi formación en Pilates comenzó con Romana Krysanovska e Inelia Garcia en The Pilates Studio Brazil certificándome en 2005, continúe todos estos años con Educaciones continuadas y workshops de Authentic Pilates y en 2016 entré en el Master Program “The Work” dirigido por Jay Grimes y Sandy Shimoda en Vintage Pilates , Los Angeles, Califirnia con el propósito de continuar aprendiendo y mejorando en el Método.

Trabajo junto a mas o menos otros 13 instructores desde que el Studio Cidade Jardim abrió sus puertas en el año 2007 en San Pablo – Brasil. Este Estudio se ha convertido en uno de los mayores y mas bien conceptuados Studios de Pilates en Brasil, siendo también reconocido como uno de los mas importantes Studios de la franquicia “The Pilates Studio Brasil – Authentic Pilates”

Sabrán que cuidar y mantener un estudio de Pilates de suceso, con instructores comprometidos y clientes satisfechos, es un gran desafío!

A lo largo de estos años como coordenador y director , he podido identificar algunas claves para el éxito alcanzado hasta ahora. Por ejemplo: como mantener sus “clientes” satisfechos y motivados.

Considerando que la práctica de Pilates no simplemente mejora tu postura como también mejora el acondicionamiento físico y mental, los “instructores” deberían estar concientes de que lá práctica nos lleva a la excelencia.

Con el propósito de alcanzar mejores resultados y una mejor performance en nuestros clientes, deberíamos imaginarnos en sus zapatos y vivenciar el método no solo durante el curso de certificación, y si como se supone que debería ser un trabajo constante y disciplinado.

De esta manera será posible avanzar con tus clientes y ayudar a mejorar la salud y el bienestar de ellos.

Además de la satisfacción de nuestros clientes externos (alumnos), deberíamos identificar como inspirar a nuestros clientes internos (instructores).

He experimentado esto yo mismo, siempre practicando e intentando sentir las dificultades de ellos con el objetivo de ayudarlos más y mejor.

En algún punto en mi carrera, sentí la necesidad de estudiar más para alcanzar mis objetivos y también los de mis clientes, entonces ingresé en otro curso. Esto és lo que en mi opinión lleva a un profesional a la excelencia: ser apasionado, estudiar y aprender constantemente y profundamente siempre colocando nuevas metas y desafíos para nosotros en primer lugar.

Así podrás: ver que puedes ser mas eficiente, sentir la pasión de aprender y hacerlo mejor la próxima vez como practicante y como instructor.

A pesar de todas las dificultades que hemos tenido durante estos años, como crisis política, crisis económica, cambios en el equipo de profesores, clientes que no se entregan al método, y otros factores; hemos sido capaces de tener éxito debido a nuestra pasión disciplina!

Sea un modelo a imitar, entrene constantemente, busque ser lo mejor que usted puede ser, experimentar y sentir el método, ser un apasionado. Un líder verdadero puede ayudar a su equipo a encontrar su fuego interior e inspirar otros por él ser consecuente.
