Meet Dr. Courtnay Meletta, a luminary in the field of integrative psychotherapy, whose transformative approach to mental health is rooted in humanism, psychodynamics, depth psychology, and existentialism. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Meletta is a clinical supervisor who specializes in body-oriented (somatic) psychotherapy, trauma, mind-body medicine and leadership, and psychedelic assisted psychotherapy.
Dr. Meletta's credentials speak to her unshakable commitment to the mental health field. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Holistic Counseling from Salve Regina University, with extensive study in the area of Holistic Leadership. She later completed her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Mental Health, leading to clinical licensure in the state of Rhode Island. Dr. Meletta then went on to earn her Ph.D. in Integrative Mental Health from the School of Mind-Body Medicine at Saybrook University, where she submitted her dissertation on the transformative effects of yoga for leader self-development.
A true spiritual seeker, Dr. Meletta has also completed over 500+ hours of yoga training over the past two decades, and has studied the therapeutic modalities of EMDR trauma treatment, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Core Energetics Body Oriented Psychotherapy, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, and Internal Family Systems. She is a certified practitioner of MDMA assisted psychotherapy by the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) and is currently studying under the guidance of Dr. Gabor Mate to learn his Compassionate Inquiry approach to healing.
Dr. Meletta is a gifted teacher and supervisor, dedicated to supporting pre-licensed therapists and graduate students in their personal and professional growth. She is presently adjunct faculty at Saybrook University, teaching mind-body medicine and body-oriented psychotherapy, and in the Psychology Department at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
In addition to her work in academia, Dr. Meletta is passionate about sharing her knowledge and research on mind-body leadership with executives and organizational teams. Her empathetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, and fiercely loving style of working with people helps them to understand the depth within themselves and make intentional choices to live authentic lives.
