Last week was my birthday! And, growing up I hated having a birthday that was at the beginning of the year. It was cold and most people forgot. Then, as I grew older I realized it was even worse! My friends were eating healthier so they didn’t want to go out to eat, they are doing dry-anuary so they don’t want to drink. There is nothing good at the stores and it’s still cold. But, despite all that junk, I LOVE my birthday date.
Yep, I love having a birthday at the end of January because it’s like having a new year all over again. I use my birthday to evaluate the goals I have set for myself for the year. How am I liking them? Are they working? If they aren’t working why not? If I don’t like them what needs to change? Do I need to delete these goals? Did I pick up someone else’s goals by mistake?
I choose to use my Bday as a great spot to do a new year just for me. But, here’s the beauty of this, you don’t need to have a birthday in January to do this. You can evaluate your goals at any time. After all, they are your goals.
So, set a reminder in your phone for as often as you want to do a check-in. I would def do it this week. It can be your gift to me!
